A Revelation of God's Love

We hear in the Christian culture all the time about the verse that says ‘God is love,’ but do we really know the full depths of its meaning? I don’t think we can fully understand this phrase until we experience it with God for ourselves. The term ‘God is love’ is more than just a phrase but it holds truth and revelation shown by the word of God. It says in 1 John 4:7-9, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love (NIV).” We pray that as you read this article, you get a new revelation of how God is love and that you would experience God’s perfect love for yourself. Love was always God’s idea, not what the world paints it as. It holds value like no other and experience with our Savior, Jesus Christ.

God’s Love is True Satisfaction

God’s love is the only true satisfaction of this world. No relationship, no job, no amount of money, or other love could measure up to the fullness of God’s love for us. In order to be truly satisfied and be able to love others, we first have to learn how to receive this amazing gift of love through receiving Jesus as our savior. God sending his one and only son on the cross for us so we could live is the true act of love. Jesus was willing to give up his life so we could be saved from death and receive everlasting life! Learning how to walk the fullness of our salvation and of God’s love is a never-ending process that we get to unwrap every day.

You Could Never Earn It

At times receiving God's perfect love can feel underserved or even uncomfortable. Thankfully God is not concerned with what we think we deserve because he defeated death so we didn't have to get what we deserve! God is love and love covers over a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8)." Romans 8: 38-39 says, “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (NIV).” Reach out to God in your time of trouble or in the times you don’t feel like you can go on. His love is waiting to help you and pick you back up. God’s love is not petty, but strong and strong enough to save you.

A Love That Will Change the World

Finally, God is love shows us how desperately our world needs love. If the end is not good, God is not finished. If a situation is not full of life or love, there is still an opportunity for God to use us, believers, to invade. 1 John 4:19 says, “We love because he first loved us.” Once we experience God’s love for ourselves, it overflows into everything we say and do. This way of living will change the world! Don’t underestimate the power of God’s transforming love. 1 John 3:1-2 says, “See what kind of love the Father has given us that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” We as children of God have this amazing opportunity to love people and invite them into the love of God, where they belong.

The simple phrase of ‘God is love’ will transform your life if you let it. God is pleased with you no matter what and he is inviting you to discover what love really is. let Him take you on this amazing journey and watch how your hope and joy will be returned in God’s presence. “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”-1 John 4:16
