How To Please God

How To Please God Ways To Please God

How to please God: A step-by-step process

The bible says that Enoch pleased God and He was not. Christians all over the world start out wanting to please God in every area of their life.

Hebrews 11:5 By faith [that pleased God] Enoch was caught up and taken to heaven so that he would not have a glimpse of death; AND HE WAS NOT FOUND BECAUSE GOD HAD TAKEN HIM; for even before he was taken [to heaven], he received the testimony [still on record] that he had walked with God and pleased Him.

What a life. It is a life to be envied. What beautiful intimacy with God, such sweet ‘koinonia’. Who would not want to have the ears of the King of kings and the Lord of lords?

Whom would not want to be able to dialogue with the Lord and have Him answer, and respond and give His approval.

Sadly, many people do not value their relationship with God. They do not remain in fellowship with God even though they love Him so much. The love does not translate to action. This act is easy to understand. It happens to the best of us.

Life happens.

Many things can stop us from beginning the journey of pleasing God.

For some, it is the ‘hustle’ and ‘bustle’ to make some money to get by in life, for others it is the busyness of life. It can also be heartbreak or the loss of a loved one. People stop following God for many different reasons.

Many attend church for years and yet in their hearts have stopped following or actively obeying God. They instead obey the doctrines of their church and silence the voice of the Holy Spirit before He interrupts their day.

The greatest desire of God is to fellowship with man. This is a desire He feels for every man and woman. The one who has begun a personal relationship with Him are the only ones qualified to be in an intimate relationship with the Father.

Life in Christ is a Systematic Process.

Being saved is a reason for heaven to rejoice. Angels rejoice when a soul is saved. Imagine what happens when a child of God, a saint of God, starts living their daily life to please the Lord.

Imagine how the Lord’s face lights up when you talk with Him first thing in the morning and consider Him all through your day.

The word - How to please God

The bible says, in Hebrews 11:6 that ‘without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

God rewards those who seek Him. If you want the reward of God, commit to pleasing Him by living by faith.

God Is a Good Father, He Loves You, and You Belong to Him Wholly

God wants to be present in your everyday life. He is like a lover. He is the lover of your soul. He wants to fill your thoughts. He wants you thinking of Him in your sleeping and in your waking hour.

He wants all of you, warts, and all. He wants your spirit, soul, and body.

Romans 12: 1-2 Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship. And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].

He desires that you present your body as a living sacrifice to Him daily. He wants avowals of your love. He wants your loyalty and faithfulness.

The bible says in Romans Chapter 12, verse 1 that we are to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto the Lord, this is our reasonable act of worship.

Considering the Lord daily, before we do anything in our life is pleasing to the Lord. Letting the Lord guide and direct our lives is an act that pleases the Lord. The bible calls it worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

Pleasing the Lord is Worship

The choice to worship the Lord is a great honour.

In the Old Testament, no one was allowed to come into the presence of the Lord, except the high priest. You could not come into His presence talk less of pleasing Him.

Worship is praise and worship. It is also living our lives in a way that pleases God.

Being honest and authentic in our words, thoughts, and actions can be some of the ways that we can worship the Lord.

For example, if we had a best friend that we talked to every day, and we loved, our life would be changed by that friend. As time goes by, we would do the things that we do around this friend that we loved. We might start eating a special kind of salad because of our friend. In other words, we could watch certain movies and hang out at the cinemas because of our relationship with our friend.

Intimacy with God Pleases Him

There is a close relationship that you have with your closest friends that you do not have with the crowds. It was cultivated with time spent with them and commitment to talk with them daily. After a while, you both start speaking alike and looking like each other.

This is the kind of commitment that the Lord requires of you if you are to build a close relationship with Him.

In the same way, as your friendship with the Lord grows, you start having the same attributes and character and ability. As you share yourself with the Lord, the Lord shares Himself with you until it is clear to all that you have become one.

1 Corinthians 6:17 But the one who is united and joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him

As you continue to yield to the promptings of the Lord to you, your obedience puts you in a position where you have come under His influence and can be used for His glory to expand His kingdom on earth.

Pleasing God as Responsible Sons and Daughters of His Majesty

This is God’s greatest desire that all of His children will grow up and be mature enough to be His representatives and expand His kingdom on earth intentionally.

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” And “I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.

The presence of Jesus in your life should affect you in every way. This is the mark of sons and daughters. It is the mark of sons and daughters.

They are committed to developing the fruit of the Spirit in their life.

Pleasing God: The Holy Spirit and You

The Holy Spirit knows why you were created and what your purpose in the Lord is. His ministry in your life is to help you become like Jesus.

The Holy Spirit wants to make you a successful Christian in every way.

The more time we spend with the Lord and the more time we spend looking at Him, our bad habits will begin to fall away.

Our negative habits and attitudes will be replaced with the fruit of the Holy Spirit. As we do this, we will begin to look like the Lord whom we are spending time with.

As we become more like the Lord, we would start getting His heart. The things that he wants would be our desire. Our will would align with His will and we will discover that we are becoming like Him progressively daily.
