What is faith and how does it work

What is faith and how does it work What is faith and how does it work?

You need faith to live the victorious Christian life.

You need faith to get your prayers answered, to know who to marry, and to know what business or purpose is for you.

We need faith for everything in life. A life without faith is a life of less than God desires for us. The believer is called to live by faith.

Faith can overcome anything in the world system.

1 John 5:4

Whosoever is born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.

Faith overcomes the world.

Faith is very powerful and you can have it. There is no limit to what faith can do. You should be enjoying your best life because you have faith in God.

There is so much injustice in the world that needs to be addressed. There is so much wrong going on in the world today that no one will do anything about it until the believer rises up and becomes responsible for enforcing God’s will on the earth.

No one will help the poor if someone does not stand up with a dream to build soup kitchens for feeding the poor. No one will help the prisoners if believers do not stand up to create programs to prepare prisoners for the outside world.

The kingdom of God needs to expand on earth and the only way to do this is to believe for it first. Then by faith begin acting on the vision that is received from the Lord.

Defining faith

Faith is believing in something so much that you act on it. Faith in God is believing in God so much that you act on what He says in His word.

How does the Bible define faith?

The bible defines faith using Hebrews 11:1. This verse tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

For faith to grow, you need to get a deposit of God’s word in your Spirit

How does anything grow? In actual life, anything that you feed grows. If you feed your spirit man daily with the word of God, you will grow.

If you spend time with God reading the word, studying the bible, praising and worshipping Him, you will grow. If you spend time daily speaking in tongues, you will grow in the wisdom of God.

If you keep company with God daily, you will become wise. The secret of life is learning the habits to keep and the ones to get rid of. Your life is made by the things that you do daily. What does your daily routine look like? Do you want to change anything?

How do you grow faith?

Like all things that grow, if you do not water and feed it, it will die of starvation. In Christ’s kingdom, everything begins with a seed.

After planting, you need to protect and guard the seed against the things that try to destroy it.

Faith grows the more you use it. All you need is a mustard seed of faith. As you use it, it begins to multiply.

When situations arise around you that are contrary to God’s word, plant the word of God with your mouth. The seed will grow until it gets the capacity to get the word done.

Romans 10: 17 teaches us that faith comes by hearing. This implies that faith grows by daily hearing.

Anything you search the scriptures and find out the promises of God concerning you, you are feeding your spirit.

Your body needs food to grow. Your spirit needs the word of God to grow. Feed on God’s word. Take heed of how you hear the Lord. Paying attention to the word of God will cause you to respect spiritual things. Your actions will follow the desires of your heart.

The more of God’s word you read causes your spirit, soul, and body to come into unity with your human spirit.

How do you develop faith and how does faith work?

Faith works by love. Your faith works better when you walk in love with all men.

Your faith works better when you acknowledge the good things in you by Christ. When you are born again, there are good things in you. Christ has deposited eternal life in your spirit and you now have in you the quality that makes God who He is. You become the temple of God and He lives in you.

Faith works by love.

Faith and love are two ingredients that you require for faith to work.

Galatians 5:6 says, “For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.”

See 1 Corinthians 13:1-4 in the Amplified Version and take note of how your love-walk affect your faith-walk.

If I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love...I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers...and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God’s love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody). Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing] food, and if I surrender my body to be burned...but have not love...I gain nothing.

The Christian life is not about dos and don’ts. Faith is not about do’s and dont’s. Faith is about responding to God’s word.

One command that we ought to focus on is to stay in love. Walk in love towards all men. Do not do harm to all men. The one commitment of the believer that chooses an effective faith life is to walk in love.

Our love walk is connected to all the areas of our life, including our faith life. Faith without love will not accomplish anything.

What are examples of faith in the bible and how can you apply it in your life?

Gideon was a coward until he met the Lord. Rahab was a prostitute until she met the Lord. David was a young man who took care of sheep until he met the Lord. Joseph was a man in prison until he met the Lord.

So many verses are in the bible of different people at different stages of life and different personalities and yet in meeting the Lord, there was a difference in their life. A huge one.

Everyone needs a God encounter in their life to make them into great faith heroes. They were not faith heroes for simply themselves. They were faith heroes for others. Gideon saved the whole of Israel and acted as a judge. Rahab saved Israel and her family. Joseph saved Israel and his family.

How do you protect your faith and contend for the faith in Christ Jesus?

Love makes all the difference when it comes to having a faith walk that is alive.

“Love bears up under anything and everything that comes...its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]...” (verses 7-8, AMP).

Many times, we think that faith works for perfect people and so disqualify ourselves from the goodness of God because we do not have a perfect picture. We are not perfect people. God through discipline and training will lead us into perfection. We receive the goodness of God because of His grace and not because of our perfection.

So when we ask anything of the Lord, we do it in faith. We rest on faith by the blood of Jesus and access by the sacrifice on the cross.

Walk in love because love never fails. God desires the best for us and we agree with Him. God’s best includes honoring Him, walking in forgiveness, and walking in the fruit of the Spirit.

We are not picking what to obey and what to ignore from God’s word. The word of God is all connected and centers on God’s word. The act of walking in love is an act of faith. Study God’s word with reverence and with confidence that the author of the bible is deeply in love and committed to you.

When you bring love and faith together, it helps you to view the world correctly. It helps you to view God’s children correctly and to view people who are yet to be converted into Christ correctly.

Knowing all this, you can be a fragrance of Christ anywhere that you go.
